The Internet Society  (ISOC) is a nonprofit organisation founded in 1992 to provide leadership in Internet related standardseducation and policy

CNUCE CNR was among the founders of the Internet Society (ISOC) in 1992.  From then on CNR participated in ISOC as Executive Member.

ISOC has been fully engaged in the Internet governance debate since the very first discussion, as a firm advocate of multi-stakeholder, democratic, and transparent participation. 

CNR IIT takes part as member in the Internet Society Advisory Council [ISOC-AC]. ISOC AC represents the organization members of the ISOC within the context of the overall vision of the Society - a means of fostering cooperation on matters affecting the general welfare and effectiveness of the global Internet and its users. Organization members include representatives from academic, research, service/equipment suppliers, content providers, government, international organizations, and public interest groups.

The Internet Society is an independent international nonprofit organisation founded in 1992 to provide leadership in Internet related standards, education, and policy around the world.  With offices in Washington D.C., USA, and Geneva, Switzerland, it is dedicated to ensuring the open development, evolution and use of the Internet for the benefit of people throughout the world. The Society's individual and organisation members are bound by a common stake in maintaining the viability and global scaling of the Internet. They comprise the companies, government agencies, and foundations that have created the Internet and its technologies as well as innovative new entrepreneurial organisations contributing to maintain that dynamic. Since its inception in 2000, CNR promoted the Italian chapter of ISOC.
