This line of research addresses the security of distributed services and systems, with particular emphasis towards the Future Internet. The main topics focus on identification and authentication mechanisms, as well as on coordinated resource sharing management, as access and usage control. Privacy is also a main concern. In particular, the research staff has been studying secure mechanisms for the management and usage of pseudonyms for the definitions and implementations of web services. Also, a major topic is the development of trust management techniques in web communities for the definition of data and resource sharing policies.
