The Videobroadcasting service supports recording and streaming of scientific events.

The team is equipped with camcorders, tripods, video recorders, video and audio mixers, monitors, non-linear editing units, hardware codecs, etc., with state-of-the-art tools for broadcasting live or recorded events via Internet. It also has dedicated streaming video servers and a repository for the distribution of recordings via Web.

Video conferencing is accomplished mainly through management of a specially- equipped meeting room, which has been set up to maximize the potential use of the AccessGrid system for videoconferencing (http://www.accessgrid.org/). The same equipment can also be used to support traditional-type multimedia conferencing using SIP or H.323 technology, or group co-operation facilitated by use of the Marratech system (http://www.marratech.com).
