This unit deals with drafting and implementing regulatory agreements to assist in the management and resolution of conflicts regarding the allocation of ccTLD it domain names, the study of legal issues related to “informatics” contracts, digital signatures, royalties, software licenses, data processing, the directives on electronic communications, and cybercrime.

The unit is involved in the preparation of regulations concerning the assignment of domain names with specific reference to the resolution of disputes and relations with providers of alternative dispute resolution service. Examples include changing the registration system, editing clauses in contracts, and reviewing specific content.

Another important task is managing requests for access to data, information and documents regarding registrations. These tasks are performed by the Registry on the basis of a regulation reported in the regulations for assignments and disputes in accordance with Italian law 241/90, as well as the Italian National Research Council's norms regarding access to data.
