Multimodal text keypad for blind users of smartphones

This Android prototype aims to ease text insertion and editing done by blind users on touchscreen devices. It uses the familiar standard twelve-key layout and character mapping for telephones, together with a set of touch gestures, to perform editing actions at the letter, word, and phrase levels. Haptic and audio feedback is offered to the user using features already available on most smartphones.
